A brass spit roast for suspending food above an open flame. The clockwork movement rotates the item so that it cooks evenly. An ingenious kitchen item which now becomes an interesting conversation piece.

Multi-use Art Nouveau container fashioned from copper
A stunning copper multi-use container with a strengthening band of studded ironwork. The handmade dovetail joint indicates that it was hand made by a coppersmith, rather than a mass produced piece.
A beautiful container, for use to hold coal, dried flowers and grasses, flowers and umbrellas. Fabulous shine and condition. Hard to believe it is an antique piece from more than 100 years ago. A truly remarkable and rare Art Nouveau piece in great, used condition.

A hot water can used to carry water around in grand mansions (for maids to use in their bedrooms). These days, of course, it can be referred to as a watering can. Very stylish with its long spout and curved handle.
The body is also well made with bands engraved into the brass. 38 cm overall and 26 cm highest. A delightful and decorative item from a bygone age.

Rare 19thC British Military "Haystack" Copper 1¼ Gallon Ration Jug
Rare 19thC British Military "Haystack" Copper 1¼ Gallon Ration Jug. Highly collectable and beautifully polished 19th-century antique British copper "haystack" harvest flagon / ale measure. This piece transcends typical civilian tavern ware, featuring a verified historical pedigree. Military Markings: Stamped explicitly on the upper flared rim with the authentic British Board of Ordnance / War Department "Broad Arrow" (crow's foot) property mark, accompanied by an "I" code, confirming official deployment to military installations or colonial service commands (likely British military operations in India). Unusual Capacity: Holds exactly 10 Imperial Pints (1¼ Gallons). Constructed using traditional mid-19th-century seamed copper panels with distinct dovetailing, stabilized by a heavy-gauge strap handle and robust hand-peened rivets. The vessel boasts an excellent high-shine display polish while retaining honest age patination around the seam joints. It remains structurally sound and highly presentable. Size is 27 cm tall x 30 cm wide at base.

Pair of Brass candlesticks dated 1760
Pair of Brass candlesticks dated 1760 approx are 18 cm tall and made by famous birmingham maker William Lee. Very historical. Unfortunately one has a damaged top to the sconce so they are being priced as a single candlestick. Because of the famous maker they would have been priced at 900 for the pair but they are 500 for the two candlesticks.

Art Nouveau slim, copper, 2-handled jug, 36.5 cm tall from approximately 1900. Clearly stamped “British Made” This is a heavy quality vase with a wide base for floor-standing. Possibly made to take a single umbrella. These days, it would make a great holder for fresh or dried flowers.

BENHAM & FROUD solid copper coal hod
BENHAM & FROUD solid copper coal hod. Superb condition for a Victorian piece. See the famous "Orb and Cross" trademark of Benham and Froud. The stamp is stylized so that the orb forms a circular base with a cross standing directly on top of it. The letters below the logo are the initials for Benham & Froud. As this is a verified, branded piece from a renowned maker rather than a generic Victorian scuttle, its market value is higher.
The secondary mark of the four little triangles stamped directly under the initials is also highly documented. Historic metalwork experts (like Vintage French Copper's field guides) note that Benham & Froud used specific secondary punch marks to denote which workshop or artisan crafted the piece.
Interestingly, the four triangles punch was explicitly recorded by historians as a mark found on their high-end brass and copper coal

Beautiful chestnut roaster in solid copper with a shaped steel handle. A must for all devotees of fireplace decoration. The perforated front is richly beaten and measures 19cm x 14cm. Including the handle it is 57 cm long.
